Ilene Guberman
Ilene Guberman is a contemporary American painter whose work is inspired by her world travels, exploring her environments while capturing the mood and light of a specific moment in time. She most recently traveled to Cuba, Peru, Spain, and Portugal for inspiration. Her work balances both impressionism and realism, letting the viewer provide the final interpretation.
Ilene has been painting for more than 60 years. She received a bachelor's degree in fine arts at Brooklyn College, where she also received her master's degree. She studied under Ad Reinhardt, Philip Pearlstein, Burgoyne Diller, and Lee Bontecou.
Ilene is a prolific artist, educator, and collector of art and antiques.
Her work is currently displayed in the MetLife Building in New York City.
